Dr. Kenneth Alleyne, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Kenneth Alleyne is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine at Eastern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, with locations in Bloomfield, South Windsor, and Tolland, Connecticut, as well as Midtown East, New York City. He is known for providing advanced orthopedic care and innovative regenerative treatments to patients of all ages and activity levels.

Education & Medical Training

A Hartford, Connecticut native with Caribbean heritage (Barbados and Jamaica), Dr. Alleyne graduated from Kingswood-Oxford School before attending Williams College, where he was a three-sport athlete and completed his pre-medical coursework. He earned his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he served as president of the Student National Medical Association and founded the Winston Salem Mentor Network.

Dr. Alleyne completed a prestigious research fellowship at the Harvard/MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, focusing on bone healing innovations under the leadership of Dr. Cato Laurencin. He received his orthopedic surgery training
at Howard University Hospital and pursued advanced fellowship training in
Knee and Shoulder Surgery and Sports Medicine at Yale University, where he also served as an associate team physician.

Expertise in Sports Medicine & Regenerative Therapies

Dr. Alleyne is passionate about helping patients—from student athletes to active seniors—maintain and restore healthy, active lifestyles. As a sports medicine consultant, he works closely with local athletes and teams and has served as a venue physician for the US Open Tennis Tournament.

He offers cutting-edge regenerative treatments, including:

He is the founder of SATO (Student Achievement Through Opportunity), a nonprofit supporting Hartford students, and a proud member of the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation.

Dr. Alleyne also holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopedics at the University of Connecticut and serves as an attending physician at multiple hospitals across Connecticut and New York.
